FAQ's - Bathroom Fitting in Bradford

How long does it usually take to complete a bathroom?

Usually a bespoke bathroom fitting including tiling takes approx 7 - 10 days depending on the work that needs to be carried out, a simple straight swap of bath, toilet and sink would take 1 - 2 days 

How much does a bathroom cost?

Because bathrooms come in all different  shapes and sizes the costs vary from bathroom to bathroom

Will I ever be left without a toilet?

No! if the bathroom we are working on has the only toilet in the property we will always refit your toilet before we leave your property.

In an emergency do I pay a call out fee?

Our emergency call outs are free during our operating hours, you will only be charged for the first hours work and any hours thereafter (materials not included). A fee is applied out of operating hours. WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR TRAVEL TIME 

What if I need something done in an emergency and you don’t have the parts?

We carry alot of parts with us but unfortunatley we cannot carry everything, if by chance we do not have the required part we will make everything safe and return with the part as soon as is reasonably possible

Are you gas safe?

No we are not gas safe. but we can give you contact details of an approved contractor.

Payments:

Deposits are  due on the first day of works. All progress payments shall be due on time on the date stated on the quotation form. Final payment shall be upon substantial completion and submittal of the final invoice.

Payments accepted by: cash, cheques, BACS, PayPal

Warranties and limitation on liability:

Contractor grants the customer a one year warranty on workmanship. In the event of a claim of defective workmanship, Please notify us at your earliest possible convenience and we can arrange to come and fix any problems you may have. Should fire, casualty, vandalism, storm(s) resulting in whole, or partial destruction of the building should occur during the work due it shall not be deemed the fault of the contractor, customer shall look solely to the homeowners insurance for recourse for any damage, and contractor shall not be liable.. All works are guaranteed for 12 months from date of completion, this covers parts (supplied only by us) and labour. Any specific manufacturer’s warranty will be provided on request.  Your statutory rights are not affected by our guarantee.  Our Warranties and Guarantees are not insurance backed. 

12-Month Workmanship Guarantee

Guarantee Period: 12 months from date of completion

1. Scope of Guarantee

TJR Plumbing provides a 12-month guarantee on workmanship only, commencing from the date the works are completed.

This guarantee applies solely to faults that arise as a direct result of workmanship carried out by TJR Plumbing.

Where a fault is confirmed to be due to workmanship, TJR Plumbing will, at its discretion, repair or rectify the issue at no additional labour cost.

2. Materials Covered

This guarantee applies only to materials and fittings supplied by TJR Plumbing.

Any materials, fittings, sanitaryware, or components supplied by the customer or by third parties are not covered under this guarantee and remain subject to the manufacturer’s warranty (if applicable).

TJR Plumbing accepts no liability for the performance, failure, or suitability of customer-supplied or third-party materials.

3. Notification & Right to Rectify

As a condition of this guarantee, the customer must notify TJR Plumbing as soon as reasonably practicable of any suspected fault and before instructing any third party to investigate, repair, or alter the works.

The purpose of this guarantee is to ensure TJR Plumbing is given the opportunity to inspect, assess, and rectify any workmanship-related issues in the first instance.

Failure to provide TJR Plumbing with this opportunity may invalidate the guarantee.

4. Exclusions

This guarantee does not cover:

• Damage caused by third-party contractors, trades, or service providers

• Works that have been accessed, altered, repaired, or interfered with by others

• Consequential damage, including but not limited to ceilings, walls, floors, decorations, or finishes

• Emergency call-outs or investigations carried out by third parties without prior notification

• Fair wear and tear, misuse, lack of maintenance, or accidental damage

• Issues arising from existing pipework, structures, or systems not installed by TJR Plumbing

5. Third-Party Intervention

Where third-party contractors are instructed without prior notification to TJR Plumbing, or where works are accessed or altered by others, the guarantee will be rendered void in respect of the affected installation.

TJR Plumbing cannot warrant or accept responsibility for works that are no longer under its control.

6. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall TJR Plumbing be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from any defect, including loss of use, inconvenience, or associated repair costs carried out by others.

Liability under this guarantee is strictly limited to rectification of workmanship defects as outlined above.

7. Statutory Rights

This guarantee is provided in addition to, and does not affect, the customer’s statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Tenants / Landlords:

Tenants should be aware that if you accept us to take on works, do not under any circumstance assume that your landlord will be paying for the work carried out. Always get permission from your landlord before calling out a tradesperson. If the invoice is not paid or the landlord refuses to pay the invoice the invoice will revert back to the tenant. In many cases especially with emergency call outs we will ask for payment as soon as the job is complete.     

Alterations:

Any extra work which is requested of or required due to the condition of the building may increase or decrease the price, provided for more or less time to complete work, for more or less materials or labour and other. In any case the customer will be notified of the alterations and agreement made in writing.

Customers covenant non-interference:

Customer shall not attempt to direct workers on the site, exclude them from the site, demand work from them, remove the permit from the site, or interfere in any way with the contractors work.

Contractors required insurance:

Contractor shall carry public liability insuranceof £2milliuon to cover the use of heat, plumbing and tiling works

Excess Materials:

In order to ensure there are enough materials to do the work(s), contractor may order more materials than may be necessary to complete said work(s). Any access materials will not result in a change of the agreed upon contract price. All materials remaining after completion of the work shall belong to TJR Plumbing and Tiling Solutions.

Act of God and delays:

In the event the completion of work is prevented or delayed due to damage or destruction of the building, fire, accident, vandalism, earth movement, hurricane, tornado, windstorm, theft, labour strikes, warfare, material shortage, delay of any council in issuing any required permit or certificate, or in performing inspections, litigation, or any act of God, then the completion of work shall be delayed until a later date.

Effective date of agreement:

An agreement becomes effective when both parties have agreed  and applicable terms such as insurance company approval and/or deposits are met.

Cancellation policy:

The customer may have a cooling-off period of at least 14 (fourteen) calendar days from the day the notice is sent, in which the customer can choose to cancel the contract and have any deposits returned.

Complaints:

We always endeavour to provide the best service and products for our customers. However, on rare occasions, we recognise that there may be times where our customers may not be completely satisfied.

To ensure we are able to put things rights as soon as we can, please read our complaints procedure below and we will respond promptly to ensure complete satisfaction.

As soon as possible after the completion of the works, please inspect the work to ensure everything has been carried out to our usual high standards.

In the unlikely event there is anything you are not completely satisfied with, please contact us as soon as you can in order that we can rectify any problems as soon as possible. Either call, write or email us on the details at the top of this document.

We aim to respond within 1 day of receiving your complaint and where possible, will provide you with a date to remedy any issues raised.

Where we are cannot resolve your complaint using our own complaints procedure, as a Which? Trusted trader we use Dispute Resolution Ombudsman for dispute resolution. "Full replacement of bathroom/en suite/downstairs cloakroom. All work completed within the planned three weeks. We were left with a working toilet and either a shower or bath throughout. "This is the 2nd time I have chosen TJR Plumbing and Tiling. The 1st being a downstairs toilet installation 6 years ago. Our bathroom was outdated and well worn, so as I was so impressed the 1st time, I tasked Tom with the job. He met every expectation and him and his Tiler, Luis, worked like Trojans and completed the work quicker than we had hoped. Bathroom transformed, my wife very happy. Excellent standard top to bottom, Complete bathroom sweet, shower, waterproof flooring laid, and wallcabinet/mirror with LED lights, and a new PVC covering the ceiling with the latest low voltage LED lights and extractor fan. They were offered tea/coffee many times but prefer to continue working without a break. I am even more impressed than I was the first time. I have no hesitation in recommending them for any plumbing and tiling work

"Our experience with Tom has been excellent. He is realy good at communication always replying to my emails within a couple of hours and always answers his phone. Tom recommended we buy the bathroom from easy bathrooms and was very pleased with the service there and the discount we got through him. "Tom has just completed my bathroom refit and I could not be happier with the finish. Its absolutely beautiful. It's now my favourite room in the house. The tiles are beautiful and I love my new towel radiator. From the first consultation I knew we had the right man for the job, he suggested different things that I didn't think of, like simply moving my taps from one side to the other. "Tom and the guys at TJR plumbing organised fitting an electric shower where there hadn't been one before and also tiled a large section of my bathroom. I was just so impressed at helpful and communicative he was during the whole process. The electrician he arrange showed up on time (both times), was helpful and was a really great guy. Tom himself and his tiler did outstanding work with the shower and tiling. Gave them a key so they could get on with it whilst i was at work and had absolutely noproblems. "Second time I’ve use TJR and yet again I can’t praise enough. I needed an old broken mains shower removed and replaced. Job turned slightly more complicated than expected due to some botched plumbing (nothing to do with TJR) however Tom requoted a very good price and revised timescale and as usual all work was completed by that time to the usual high standards

"Initially I called TJR to deal with an emergency plumbing situation (bad water leak in kitchen due to old botched plumbing). Tom arrived within 30mins, sorted the problem quickly without any fuss. Having sorted that I asked if he could supply me with a quote for changing the taps and the plughole/waste on bath in the near future. He offered to do them there and then and did a splendid job overall. "Complete rip-out of the old bathroom, stripped the timber cladded walls and suspended ceiling. Retiled the walls and floor and fit in a new suite. The work is now finished and is absolutely BRILLIANT. I was consulted with every decision, they were clean and tidied every evening before leaving, dustsheets on the stairs and landing (if you didn't go to the bathroom you wouldn't know they had been!) All in all the work is to a very high standard and the labour cost not unreasonable, which was set out in the (very clear) quote I couldn't recommend Tom and Lou highly enough!Thanks lads job well done!"

"Tom and Luis saved the day. After a nightmare situation with cowboy builders, and having spoken with Trading Standards I found TJR plumbers aka "The Cavalry". What a breath of fresh air. They were polite, professional, punctual, clean and tidy. They had to remove the floor and sanitary ware and start again as well as making good shoddy and incomplete work. They did so with good humour and without taking a cigarette or tea break !!!!! The completed bathroom is brilliant,very well finished with great attention to detail.
