FAQ's



How long does it usually take to complete a bathroom?


Usually a bespoke bathroom fitting including tiling takes approx 7 - 10 days depending on the work that needs to be carried out, a simple straight swap of bath, toilet and sink would take 1 - 2 days 


How much does a bathroom cost?


Because bathrooms come in all different  shapes and sizes the costs vary from bathroom to bathroom


Will I ever be left without a toilet?


No! if the bathroom we are working on has the only toilet in the property we will always refit your toilet before we leave your property.


In an emergency do I pay a call out fee?


Our emergency call outs are free during our operating hours, you will only be charged for the first hours work and any hours thereafter (materials not included). A fee is applied out of operating hours. WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR TRAVEL TIME 


What if I need something done in an emergency and you don’t have the parts?


We carry alot of parts with us but unfortunatley we cannot carry everything, if by chance we do not have the required part we will make everything safe and return with the part as soon as is reasonably possible


Are you gas safe?


No we are not gas safe. but we can give you contact details of an approved contractor.

Payments:


Deposits are  due on the first day of works. All progress payments shall be due on time on the date stated on the quotation form. Final payment shall be upon substantial completion and submittal of the final invoice.


Payments accepted by: cash, cheques, BACS, PayPal


Warranties and limitation on liability:


Contractor grants the customer a one year warranty on workmanship. In the event of a claim of defective workmanship, Please notify us at your earliest possible convenience and we can arrange to come and fix any problems you may have. Should fire, casualty, vandalism, storm(s) resulting in whole, or partial destruction of the building should occur during the work due it shall not be deemed the fault of the contractor, customer shall look solely to the homeowners insurance for recourse for any damage, and contractor shall not be liable.. All works are guaranteed for 12 months from date of completion, this covers parts (supplied only by us) and labour. Any specific manufacturer’s warranty will be provided on request.  Your statutory rights are not affected by our guarantee.  Our Warranties and Guarantees are not insurance backed.


Tenants / Landlords:


Tenants should be aware that if you accept us to take on works, do not under any circumstance assume that your landlord will be paying for the work carried out. Always get permission from your landlord before calling out a tradesperson. If the invoice is not paid or the landlord refuses to pay the invoice the invoice will revert back to the tenant. In many cases especially with emergency call outs we will ask for payment as soon as the job is complete.     


Alterations:


Any extra work which is requested of or required due to the condition of the building may increase or decrease the price, provided for more or less time to complete work, for more or less materials or labour and other. In any case the customer will be notified of the alterations and agreement made in writing.


Customers covenant non-interference:


Customer shall not attempt to direct workers on the site, exclude them from the site, demand work from them, remove the permit from the site, or interfere in any way with the contractors work.


Contractors required insurance:


Contractor shall carry public liability insuranceof £2milliuon to cover the use of heat, plumbing and tiling works


Excess Materials:


In order to ensure there are enough materials to do the work(s), contractor may order more materials than may be necessary to complete said work(s). Any access materials will not result in a change of the agreed upon contract price. All materials remaining after completion of the work shall belong to TJR Plumbing and Tiling Solutions.


Act of God and delays:


In the event the completion of work is prevented or delayed due to damage or destruction of the building, fire, accident, vandalism, earth movement, hurricane, tornado, windstorm, theft, labour strikes, warfare, material shortage, delay of any council in issuing any required permit or certificate, or in performing inspections, litigation, or any act of God, then the completion of work shall be delayed until a later date.


Effective date of agreement:


An agreement becomes effective when both parties have agreed  and applicable terms such as insurance company approval and/or deposits are met.


Cancellation policy:


The customer may have a cooling-off period of at least 14 (fourteen) calendar days from the day the notice is sent, in which the customer can choose to cancel the contract and have any deposits returned.


Complaints:


We always endeavour to provide the best service and products for our customers. However, on rare occasions, we recognise that there may be times where our customers may not be completely satisfied.

To ensure we are able to put things rights as soon as we can, please read our complaints procedure below and we will respond promptly to ensure complete satisfaction.

As soon as possible after the completion of the works, please inspect the work to ensure everything has been carried out to our usual high standards.

In the unlikely event there is anything you are not completely satisfied with, please contact us as soon as you can in order that we can rectify any problems as soon as possible. Either call, write or email us on the details at the top of this document.

We aim to respond within 1 day of receiving your complaint and where possible, will provide you with a date to remedy any issues raised.

Where we are cannot resolve your complaint using our own complaints procedure, as a Which? Trusted trader we use Dispute Resolution Ombudsman for dispute resolution.
